What do I wear horse riding?
The most important item of clothing is suitable foot wear - boot or shoe with a definite heel, no runners.
Track suit or Comfortable trousers. Denim not advised
Avoid baggy cloths
Do you provide hats ?
Yes, we have a selection of approved riding hats available free of charge.
What Age can I start riding from?
We take children in their sixth year and older. We have no upper age limit.
Can I join lessons in the middle of a term?
Yes, you can join a group lesson at any stage. Our term is a pricing structure which offers dicounts for block booking and advanced payment.
Should I wear a back protector?
Back protectors while not compulsory they do offer additional protection and are strongly recommended.
Will I always ride the same horse?
No, we have a wide selection of horses, each with there own character, we recommend all riders get comfortable with a wide selection of animals and there habits. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests.
How many in a class?
Classes usually range from 4 - 8 riders.
What happens if I miss a term class?
If you miss a term class and cancel at least 24hours in advance of the lesson, we will try to reschedule you into a suitable lesson on a different day that week or the following week. Lessons can not be transferred from one term to the next. Please remember to cancel if you can not make a lesson.
Do you have a weight restriction?
Yes, the maximum weight our horses can take is 16 stone.
Why use a AIRE approved riding centre?
AIRE (Assoc. of Irish Riding Est.), with the sanction of the Irish Governments Department of Agriculture and Fáilte Ireland - the Irish Tourist Board, has responsibility for the inspection and registration of horse riding schools and establishments in Ireland. All members are inspected and approved by the association to ensure the premises are operating at an acceptable level of competence and safety and their facilities are adequate for the stated activities and provide qualified staff.
